Nellie Clement Lefort

July 23, 1940 — November 26, 2023

Nell Marie Clement Lefort was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  With her husband of 65 years by her side, Nell passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the age of 83.

Nell was born on July 23, 1940 in Chackbay, Louisiana, to Frank and Marie Clement, and was one of three daughters in a family of eleven children.  At the age of 18, Nell married Garvin Lefort and shortly after, moved to Westwego, Louisiana where they spent the next 65 years.

Nell was a devoted Catholic and practiced her faith at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. She was an amazingly talented seamstress, made the best gumbo in the world (according to her grandchildren), enjoyed playing tennis with her friends, playing card games with her family, and showing off her grandchildren and great grandchildren every chance she got.  She was the best example of a Christian woman who was kind, caring, and giving to everyone she met.

Nell is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marie Clement; son Garvin Lefort, Jr;  grandson Matt Monfra; sisters Joyce (husband Elmo) and Jeanette; and brothers Richard (wife Shirley), George (wife Betty Jean), and Hubert (wife Doris).  She is survived by her husband, Garvin Lefort; children Christie Monfra, Karen Lefort, and Jayme Lefort (wife Susan); grandchildren Jesse Leboeuf (wife Dori), Cody Leboeuf (wife Ashley), Cassidy Monfra-Spellman (husband Jake), Jacob Lefort, Madison Lefort and Taylor Lefort; and great grandchildren Paul Leboeuf, Cameron Leboeuf, Avery Monfra, Luke Leboeuf, Tristan Leboeuf, and Julian Leboeuf; brothers Mercy “Mock” (wife Betty Joyce), Benny (wife Merlin), Frank (wife Lois), Steve (wife Faye), and Huey (wife Brenda); and brother-in-law Roland (wife Clara).

Special consideration to Amy, Mary, Tranquil Living and Compassus Hospice Care.
