Nelson Rafael Valentin, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the age of 51 in New Orleans, LA. He was born in Nigua, Tamboril Dominican Republic and spent most of his life in New York. He moved to New Orleans, LA in 2000. Beloved husband of Rosa Betances, father of Giselle Valentin, Jamie Valentin, and stepfather to Eridania Martinez. Grandfather to Gabriel Paez, Jariana Valentin, Kevin Palmer, Gianna Paez, and Evangely Rentas. Former husband of Lidia “Yilla” Valentin. Son of the late Juan A. Valentin and Yolanda Henriquez. Brother of Deisy Henriquez, Ramona Mota, Escolastico "Juan" Mota, Dolores Mota, Adam Mota, Ana “Charo” Valentin and Ibelisse Mota. A viewing will be held at Mothe Funeral home at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013.
A private burial in Tamboril, Dominican Republic will be held at a later date.
