Nickie G. Contranchis, Sr. passed away on October 6, 2012 at the age of 85. Husband of the late Beverly C. Contranchis. Son of the late Francis Contranchis and Mavie Danos Contranchis. Father of Donald, Glenda, Carl, Nickie, Jr., Albert and Sandy, and the late Jerry Contranchis. Grandfather of Mary Besson, Carla Rogel, Alyson Schwartz, Katie Champion, Donna Gisclair, Katie M. Bird, Britney Contranchis, Lisa Contranchis, Tammy Adams, Carl Contranchis, Jr., Donald Contranchis, Jr., Sandy Contranchis, Jr., Christopher Contranchis and Albert Contranchis, Jr. Great grandfather of 19 great grandchildren. Brother of the late Joseph Contranchis, the late Leno Contranchis, the late Horace Contranchis, the late Lena Contranchis Pomicino, the late Lorraine Contranchis Graffato. He was retired from Jefferson Parish and was inducted into the Westbank Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9AM until funeral time.
