Nolan A. Baudoin, Sr. lost his courageous battle with cancer on August 6, 2014 at the age of 78. Nolan was a native of Des Allemands, LA and a Marrero resident for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alcide and Dora Bourgeois Baudoin and his brother David Baudoin. Nolan is survived by his wife Judy Poret Baudoin, his children: Brenda (Greg) Galle, Catherine (Hansen) Eschete, Nolan “Buddy” (Lisa) Baudoin Jr, and Mark (Sabrena) Baudoin, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers John and Norman “Blackie” Baudoin and his sister Thelma Baudoin Bertrand, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nolan is a United States Army Veteran and a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He retired after 31 years of service with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development having served as a Roadside Development Specialist. An avid outdoorsman, Nolan was happiest when fishing or working on his farm. A devout Catholic, Nolan was a parishioner of St. John Bosco Parish.
The family would like to thank Hearts of Hospice and River Region Hospice House for their compassion and care in making Nolan’s last days as comfortable as possible.
Wake services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero from 6 pm to 10 pm. There will be a visitation held at St. John Bosco Church, 2114 Oakmere Dr., Harvey on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a Catholic Mass.
