Noreen Duffy Gondrella

Noreen Gondrella, age 80, adoring wife of Peter Gondrella Jr and mother of three passed away in the early hours of 21st December after her courageous battle with Demetia. Noreen was born in 1944 in Derry City, Northern Ireland and grew up surrounded by a large family, she was one of eleven siblings and a lot of aunts and uncles. Noreen was an honorable, wonderful person who had more pride in her heritage than you could imagine and more courage than a Lion. She was an inspiration to all of what “family” was and meant to her. She had the most infectious laugh and brightened every room that she entered. Noreen was a mother first, then a wife and then a friend. Family meant everything to her, and she could not have been happier to take on the role of Grandmother and eventually Great Grandmother. She loved taking trips to explore unfamiliar places, loved staying active, singing Karaoke and you could always find her on the dance floor until the music stopped playing. Noreen was a religious woman with extraordinarily strong morales and values that were upheld during her entire life. She worked hard, played hard and loved fiercely. She will be sorely missed by all.

We know that we cannot have you back but we are happy to know that we’ve all gained a guardian angel. Goodbye to a wonderful woman, wife, and a beautiful mother.

Noreen is survived by her husband Peter, three children, Patrick and his wife Lisa, Joseph, Marissa and her husband Eric. She also leaves behind her Grand Children Kandace, Kirsten, Alex, Elena, Ava, Emily as well as her Great Grand Children Isabella, Olivia, Hannah, Hayden, Elijah as well as her two sisters Catherine Doherty and Geraldine Duffy.

There will be a service to honor the life of Noreen for those who would like to say goodbye on January 4th 2025, from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey La. 70058, followed by a Memorial Mass at the funeral home.
