Norma Cheramie Donahue

Norma Cheramie Donahue entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2024. Beloved wife of the late William J. Donahue, Sr. by first marriage and the late Elzie Lee Shook by second marriage. Mother of Cheryl D. Ray (Philip) and William J. Donahue, Jr. (Connie). Grandmother of Natasha S. Roberts (Randy Sr.) and William J. Donahue, III. Great-grandmother of Colby Roberts (Taylor) and Randy Roberts, Jr. Great-great-grandmother of Wrenley Roberts. Daughter of the late Cleona Borne Cheramie and Leopold J. Cheramie. Sister of Laura Cheramie Ledet Saunders (late George), Milton Cheramie (late Joan), Leon Cheramie (Claudia), and the late Sr. Mildred Cheramie. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 93 years, a native of Gretna, LA, long time resident of Harvey, LA and current resident of Marrero, LA. Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, hard worker, strong willed woman and wonderful example for her family. She was a very proud five generation Matriarch of the family. She worked in the insurance industry for over 55 years until retirement at the age of 88. She was a devout parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church parish since 1969. She loved her trips to the casino and an avid penny machine enthusiast. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 9 AM until 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gretna, LA at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Cemetery South, Gretna, LA.
