Norman A. Melancon Jr

Norman A. Melancon, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of 43 years to Dale Miguez Melancon. Son of the late Norman Melancon, Sr. and AmaLois Hebert Melancon. Father of Leslie M. Powers, and husband Thomas; Aaron Michael Melancon and former wife, Stacey. Grandfather of Michael, Cody, Aaron, Jr., Brittany, Arthur, Ashley and T.J. Brother of Linda M. Silver, husband the late Tony; David A. Melancon; Dennis M. Melancon, and wife Kim and the late Hope Ann Melancon. Brother-in-law of Emily and Ernest Miguez, Paul and Sue Miguez and the late William Miguez, Sr. and Rose. Son-in-law of the late William and Vivian Miguez, Sr. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He served as veteran in the United States Navy. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office for 34 years. He was an usher at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Marrero and was a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul Society. Norman was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 9AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
