Norman Joseph Sevin, born July 12, 1931 in New Orleans, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of 82. Son of the late Norman Fortune Sevin and Josephine Doucet Sevin and father of the late Glenn Sevin. He is survived by the love of his life, Marie Louise Thibodeaux Sevin. Father of Bonnie Adams (Ted), Jerry Bourg (Margaret), Vance Bourg, Chad Bourg, Derick Bourg (Sherry), Melanie Erlinger (Carroll) and Troy Sevin (Penny). Grandfather to Courtney Nelson, Brad Hughes, Sr., Shane Hughes, Dale Bourg, Misty Bourg Dickerson, Joey Bourg, Brandy Bourg Zeringue, Chad Bourg, Jr., Derick Bourg, Jr., Ryan Bourg, Devin Erlinger, Skyler Erlinger, Troy Sevin, Jr. and Britney Sevin. Great Grandfather to Shaine, Zackary, Zoey and Brad Hughes, Krystyn, Kayla, Ashley, Ashton and Alyssa Bourg, Maddie and Lilly Bourg, Seth Dickerson, Bella Zeringue and Alyssa Sevin. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Sevin was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy, where he served aboard the USS Hoist. In March 2013, Mr. Sevin was awarded a “Certificate of Continuous Membership” for his 50 years of dedication to “The American Legion Post 344”. Mr. Sevin was employed with Chet Morrison for 17 years where he was known as “Pops” and also known to many in Lafitte as “Norman The Breadman” and he was loved and will be sadly missed by all. A memorial visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9AM until 11AM. A memorial Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be private.
