Nova Jewel Price

Nova Jewel Price passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero, LA. She was a resident of Gretna, LA and a native of Aberdeen, Mississippi. A Graveside Service will be held at Belah Cemetery, Trout, LA on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11AM. Services will be conducted by Brother Ronald Price. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Gretna Food Bank. Nova is survived by three brothers, James Laney of Columbus, Mississippi, Rudy Laney and wife Ruth of Houston, Texas, Ronnie Laney and wife Valerie of Houston, Texas; her children, Johnnie and wife Marian of St. Amant, Louisiana, James and wife Mary Anne of Marrero, Louisiana and Nelda Vidrine of Gretna, Louisiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Price, Sr.; her parents, Shelly and Nelda Laney and her sister, Jean Craig. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make donations to Gretna Food Bank, 1400 Jefferson Street, Gretna, LA 70053, 504-367-6676 in her remembrance. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
