Orville Lee Parker

April 15, 1943 — May 23, 2014

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Orville Lee Parker passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on May 23, 2014.
Lee was born on April 15, 1943 in Elkhart, IN. After high school Lee enlisted in the U.S. Navy and set off to the U.S. Navy Photo School in Pensacola, FL. He proudly served his country as a Naval Photographer through several duty stations and in 1985, after 24 years of service, he retired in Jacksonville, FL. Following his Naval career, Lee went on to enjoy his retirement in Hawaii with his present wife, Lois Parker. They then traveled on to Okinawa, Japan while she continued her services in the U.S. Navy. They settled in Harvey, Louisiana in 1997.

Lee was an artist and humanitarian who taught his children to celebrate the beauty and individuality in everyone. As a world traveler, photographer, and painter, Lee collected images and stories from every corner of the globe and shared his kindness and terrific sense of humor with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

Lee is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lois, his children, Joe, Paul, Monica and Jennifer and his three grandsons. He is also survived by his siblings, Sheryl, John, and Joanne and his nephew and three nieces.

A memorial service will be held at Mothe’s Funeral Home on the Westbank Expressway in Harvey, LA on June 14, 2014. A private reception will follow in the home of his daughter, Monica.
