Oswald Hinson Welch passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Fannie Patton Welch. Son of the late Henry David Welch and Laura Hinson Welch. Father of David H. Welch (Cynthia), Richard T. Welch (Roxanne), Lisa Welch Myers (Michael Sr.), Henry R. Welch (Stacey). Grandfather of Ashley, Matthew, Lindsay, Nicholas, Adam, Michael Jr., Benjamin, and Ozzie. Great-grandfather of August, Lily, Elsa, Liam, Ivy, Nina, Fisher, Molly, and Beckett. Brother of the late Ivy Welch (late Marjorie) and Effie Peters (late J.E.).
Age 95 years, a native of Long Leaf, LA and resident of Gretna, LA. He held a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana Tech University, and served in the United States Navy on USS Skylark during WWIII. Longtime member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Gretna. Retired Juvenile Probation Officer for the State of Louisiana.
