Patricia Carol Bettis

Patricia Carol Bettis, (Pat) born on 8 September 1955, age 66, after many years of illness passed away on 2 September 2022, in her home, in Marrero, Louisiana. Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Jack E. Bettis, her mother, Yolande Lehmans Sapia, her brother Johnny E. Sapia with wife, Pamela G. Sapia, and nieces Crystal G. Sapia and Shawndale C. Scott, great niece, Annabell M. Scott and two grandsons, Colston and Elias Bettis and many beloved cousins. Pat is proceeded in death by her father Henry J. Sapia, Jr and her son Henry J. Bettis.
Pat was born in LaRochelle, France. She lived many years overseas and was a graduate at Zaragoza American High School in Spain. She was raised in a military family until she married into the Marine Corps in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 9 October 1981 to Sergeant Major Jack E. Bettis. Pat loved her family and the Marine Corp and as a military wife gave her life every day for its betterment.
Pat also worked at several Military Exchange Stores, the last position before retiring was as the Store Supervisor at Belle Chase Naval Air Station. She was deeply cared for by patrons and employees.
Pat and Jack help shaped the men and women of the United States Marine Corp distilling into them the values of patriotism and loyalty to one’s country. After Jack’s 39 years, both Pat and Jack retired from active duty and continued working together with the Young Marine Program, through the New Orleans Sherriff department.
A visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco, Marrero, LA 70072 on 17 September 2022 beginning at 8:30 am and Funeral services at 10:00 am
