Early in the morning of August 31, 2023, Patricia "Pat" Ott Hargis passed away at her home. Pat was born and raised in Gretna and lived most of her life there. She leaves behind the two GREAT loves of her life her son, John C. Hebert, Jr., and her grandchild Paige Hebert. She is also survived by her sisters Catherine Jones, Ethel Marie Alexander, and Betty Hoffman, her brother Christian Ott, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late David W. Ott, Sr. and Ethel Navarre Ott. She is preceded in death by her brother David W. Ott, Jr., brothers-in-law Charles Jones, Sr., John Alexander, Sr., Kenneth Hoffman, Sr., and sister-in-law Claudette Ott.
Pat was active in fundraising for a number of local charities. Through hard work and determination, she built a life for herself as a successful business woman. Pat bought and managed many rental properties as well as large apartment complexes. She was the co-founder of Gretna Bingo and was the driving force and co-owner of Riverview Condos in Gretna. She will be remembered as a hard-working, intelligent, and generous woman who lived life on her own terms.
The family wishes to acknowledge both Jeanne Valois and Rae Bartlett for their years of friendship with Pat, as they were like her daughters and best friends.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10 AM until 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gretna, LA at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
