Patricia Tonglet Vedros

Patricia Mary Tonglet Vedros, born on May 14, 1933 in New Orleans, LA., passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Earl John Vedros, Sr. for 54 years. Devoted mother of Earl John Vedros, Jr., (wife Patricia Tauzier Vedros) and deceased baby Mary. Loving grandmother of Katie, Christopher, and Kellie Vedros.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph Tonglet and Theresa McConnon Tonglet; brothers William, Gerard, and Eugene Tonglet, and sisters Teresa Grass, Mary (Mae) Tonglet, and Lois Tonglet. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia grew up in the Irish Channel, attended St. Alphonsus Elementary, and graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1951. Patricia worked for South Central Bell and Shell Oil. Patricia was a resident of Westwego for 62 years. She was very active in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Parish, Westwego as a substitute teacher, CCD teacher, and CCD principal. Patricia attended daily mass, was active in the OLPS Fair booth, was a member of the Westwego Beautification Commission, and both a member and Past President of the KC Ladies Auxiliary Council 3091. For her dedication to OLPS parish, she received the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the ladies of Home Instead (Onetia, Frances, January, Robin, and Tyquencia) for personal care.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero, LA. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, located at 146 4th Street at Avenue A., Westwego, LA. at 1:00 pm. Interment in OLPS Mausoleum.
