Patrick Joseph Bush Sr.

Patrick Joseph Bush, Sr., a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the age of 87. Son of the late Joseph Bush and Marie Berthelot Bush, he grew up in McDonoghville along with his siblings Martha "Tootsie" Lusignan, Claire Tomlinson, Bernard "Nardy" Bush, the late Bill Bush, Freida Bush, Roy Bush, James "Chick" Bush, Marvin “Buddy” Bush, Johnny Bush, Audrey "Ticker" Chauffe, and Frances Michel.

Married for 62 years to Rose Ellen O’Keeffe Bush until her passing on September 21, 2012. Beloved father of Kathleen Bush Lyvers (Gary), Karen Bush Dendy (the late Jim Dendy), Patrick J. Bush, Jr, and Sheryl Bush Gerrick (Russell); grandfather of Jeannine Lyvers Olivier (Lawrence), Justin Bush (Shacidy), Hayley Dendy Richard (Lester Joseph “L.J.”, III), Jared Dendy, MD (Marcella Houser, MD), Mitchell Gerrick, and Mathew Gerrick; great-grandfather of Kristen Lyvers, Gavin Lyvers, Randall Lackey, Jr, Tay’Lor Bush, TyLer Bush, Ava Richard, Maddox Richard, Alice Dendy, and Violet Dendy.

Pat was an excellent carpenter as well as an avid fisherman and all around outdoorsman who devoted himself to building projects for his children and being the family handyman. He enjoyed gardening in his later years. Relatives and friends, also members of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1905 and members of Carpenters Union are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11am.
