Paul Louis Gipson

Paul Louis Gipson, originally of New Orleans, was brought by his bride to Buras where he resided for 42 years before he passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013. Beloved husband of Elise Clerc Gipson. Son of Vergie Gipson of Picayune. Father of Desiree Simmons (Jesse), Paul L. Gipson, Jr., Danica Gipson (Eddie Williams). Grandfather of Kelsey Gipson, Lena Simmons, Zoe and Paul Gipson, III, Calise Estapa, Jacy Cate Vernon, Demi Williams, Mia Williams, Collin Grant and Milania Harris. Mr. Gipson was a licensed captain since 1970 and was the owner of P&E Boat Rentals working with the Venice area oil fields, making many friends. He joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 1994 and was appointed to numerous ranks and earned many certificates of appreciation. After Katrina, he returned to Buras providing heavy equipment and services to the area. He loved fishing and had the best season this winter fishing from the deck in Venice. He was a fair and honest man who always put his family first.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 6 PM until 10 PM. Visitation will resume at St. Patrick Church, Hwy 23, Port Sulphur, LA on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 10 AM until 11 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow. Interment, Our
Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery, Buras, LA. In lieu of flowers, Masses at the church of your choice are preferred.
