Paul Irvin Gomez

Paul Irvin Gomez, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Beloved husband of Gloria Dantone Gomez for fifty-five years. Father of Lori Gomez Leal, Lynne Gomez Borden, Gloria Gomez Allen and Paula Maria Gomez. PawPaw was much beloved by his grandchildren Amy Allen Wood, Ben Allen, Regina Borden Arenales, Sara Leal Fowler, Cassie Borden LeBlanc, Courtney Leal, Zachery Allen, Seth Borden, Brett Leal, Daniel Borden, and his great-grandchildren Coleman Fowler, Rana Fowler, Kyle LeBlanc, Nathan Dieffendderfer, Colt Wood, Jade Arenales, and Josiah Arenales. Son of the late Corbert and Nellie Landry Gomez. Brother of the late Corbert Gomez, Jr., Shirley Griffin, the late Irby Gomez, the late Maurice Gomez, Lydia Comberrel and Janie Kuhn.
Paul was a graduate of Tulane University and St. Redemptorist, and was retired from McDermott International where he was a computer processing analyst for thirty-one years. He was a life-long resident of New Orleans and resided in Algiers for forty-seven years. Paul was a member of the Westbank Golden Agers and the AARP chapter 3975. He served his nation during the Korean War as a member of the 4th and 25th units.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass to be held at Mothe Funeral Homes, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Pecan Grove Training Center, 5000 Third Street, Alexander, LA 71309, where his beloved daughter, Paula, is a resident.
