Paul L. Wetzel

Paul L. Wetzel lived a full and productive life that ending May 1, 2014. Paul was born February 8, 1943 to the late Paul B. Wetzel and the late Frances L. Wetzel. Beloved husband of Georgia Ann Wetzel. Father of Shawn Garland (David), Shad Wetzel (Allison), Russell Siragusa, Ryan Wetzel and Rachel Wetzel (fiancé Chris Hargis). Four grandchildren, Christiana and Leigh Anne Garland and Sadie and Sawyer Wetzel. His sister Paula Brown (Carl), two nephews Thomas Thompson, (Annie Laurie) Scott Thompson (Kelly), one niece Christine Bromley (John) and 4 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. Paul retired from Jefferson Parish after 33 years as Assistant Director of the Drainage Dept. He went on to work for an additional 12 years for varies engineering companies doing projects for the Corps of Engineers in the Greater New Orleans area. He was a life member of Marrero Estelle Vol. Fire Dept, David Crockett Steam Fire Co No. 1 and the Louisiana State Firemen’s Assoc. He was also a member of the 8th District Fireman Assoc. and Westbank Presidents and Chiefs. Paul was an accomplished cook, photographer, and carpenter (which were only a few of his talents).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Wednesday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
