Pearl Richard Plaisance passed away July 25, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Herbert J. Plaisance. Daughter of the late Clarence Richard and Alice Poche Richard. Mother of Van Plaisance (Darlene Phillips). Step-mother of Corbert Plaisance (Rita), Norma Bourgeois (Joe), and Dorothy Breaux (Red) and the late Gretchel Adams (late Persian) and Ruby Creppel (Megee). Grandmother of Trent Plaisance (Cheryl). Step-grandmother of David, Blake, and Molly Gainey. Great-grandmother of Trey and Terick Plaisance. Step-great-grandmother of Gerald, Ryder, Landin, Jasmine, Gavin, Sara (Noah), Jerry, and Tina. Step-great-great-grandmother of Autumn, Tyler, and Evelyn. Sister of Terry Richard, Kernice Richard, and the late Clarence Richard, Jr., Winnie Boe, Lilly Mae Bernard, Evans Richard, Alice Nacio, and Ray Richard. Also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Age 91 years, a native of Labadieville, White Castle, and resident of Westwego, LA. She worked as a pipe fitter in the ship yard during World War II and then Custodian for Jefferson Parish School board until retirement in 1977. Member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church Ladies Altar Society.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 9 AM. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 PM until 10 PM and Wednesday morning from 8 AM until 9 AM.
