Peggy B Shackelford

Peggy B. Shackelford passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Edwin J. “Kid” Shackelford. Loving mother of Lanny J. Shackelford (wife Carrie), Shelley S. Roberts (husband Mark) and Steven E. Shackelford (wife Kellie). Grandmother of Spencer and Kaci, Quinn, Barrick, Trace and Caleb, Seth and Jenna. Great grandmother of Chance Shackelford. Sister of Gail Ibieta (husband Frederick) and the late Carl “Buddy” Barrios (wife, the late Mary Lynn). Daughter of the late Estelle Buras and Salvador Barrios. Age, 82 years. A native of Buras, LA, longtime resident of Buras, LA and since 2005 of Abita Springs, LA. Mrs. Shackelford served as the curator of Fort Jackson Museum, Buras, LA for many years. She also was active in the American Legion Post 193 Auxiliary, Buras, LA for most of her life.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1 PM. Interment, Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery, Buras, LA. Parlors will be open Saturday from 11 AM until 1 PM.
