Philip Odell Dufour, a native of Plaucheville, LA and resident of Marrero, LA, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Eras and Agnes Dufour. Survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Gervais Dufour and children, Janice Dufour Guidry (Alex) and Wayne Dufour, Sr. (Barbara). Proud grandfather of Bambi Foose (Jim), Shelli Zahorchak (Dennis), Alexis Leslie (Rob), Todd Dufour (Toni), Lisa Simmons Dufour and Wayne Dufour, Jr. (Laura). He was the step-grandfather of Tracy Marcel (Kim) and Stacey Goldsmith (Rob). He was survived by twelve great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three step-great-great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Oliver, Leon, Hillary, Herman, Byron, Slocum, Wallace Dufour and Gertie Chenevert.
Odell proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. He later retired from Chevron Oil Co. and the Jefferson Parish Public School System. He enjoyed traveling with Dorothy, fishing and playing cards with his buddies. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to his caregivers, Elizabeth, Starla, Bonita and Ashley for their love, support and assistance throughout this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
