Philip James Saladino of Harvey, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, LA, age 91 years. Beloved husband of 68 years of Lillian Monistere Saladino. Devoted father of Judy Saladino Daigle and Joyce Saladino Spera. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Philip Dominick Saladino and Michael James Saladino. Father-in-law of James R. Daigle, Sr. and John P. Spera, Sr. Loving son of the late Dominick and Laura Galiano Saladino. Proud grandfather of Philip D. Saladino, Jr., Chad M. Daigle, Angela Maria Spera, Sam J. Saladino, James R. Daigle, Jr., Joseph J. Saladino, Scott Michael Saladino, Dr. Melissa Spera, John Paul Spera, and the late Michael James Saladino, Jr. Great Grandfather of Shalynn Saladino and Philip D. Saladino, III, Eva Daigle and Anna Daigle, Bradley Lillian Saladino, Isabella Saladino and Michael Saladino. Step Great Grandfather of Hannah Gorski. Brother of Dominick Saladino (Dorothy) and brothers-in-law Lawrence Stansbury, James Jim Towler and the late, Joseph Saladino, Rosalie Palmisano, Vincent Saladino, JoAnn Stansbury, Mary Joyce Smallwood and Rita Ann Towler. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Philip was a Purple Heart recipient and received the Bronze Star in World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Red Bull Company A 34th Infantry Division, 133rd Infantry Regiment 1943 – 1945. Relatives and friends of the family, members of IBEW Local 130, Italian American Society of Jefferson, Golden Agers of Infant Jesus of Prague, VFW Post 7307, parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church and the Ochsner Health System are invited to attend the services. A visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6pm until 9:30pm and Saturday morning from 8am until 11:00am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
