Rafael Bermudez

Rafael Ortiz Bermudez of Terrytown, departed this life Monday, July 1st 2024, at the age of 74.

Rafael was born Monday, November 7th, 1949 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and was the beloved son of late Tomasa Ortiz and Rafael Morales Bermudez Sr.

Rafael is survived by his wife, Rowley A. Daigle, his son Rafael Bermudez Jr., grandchildren Shaili Daigle, Jeremey M. Gongora and Jasmine G. Bermudez. He is also survived by sisters Rosa Figueroa (late Roman) and their children’s (Maria, Tammy, Rosita, late Roman Jr.), and his sister Marianela Alvarnga (husband Marco) and her son Israel. He is preceded in death by his sons Aaron C. Bermudez, Justin R. Daigle, and Jordan Daigle and his grandson Joshua S. Gongora, his sisters “Lucy” Gradiz (husband Jose Augusto, children Jose, Marisol, Liza) and Carmen Cordova (children Jessica, late Hernan Jr).

Rafael was employed by Tulane Hospital and LSU as a building Engineer. 

Rafael enjoyed boating with his boys. He bought and sold cars. He loved walking all over the city especially the lakefront.

A private memorial for friends and family will be held Sunday, July 7th, 2024, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at 524 Terry Parkway, Terrytown, LA 70056. 

Rafael Bermudez will be cherished and missed by his family and close friends. The family would like to thank Rafael’s nurses Morva of Heart of Hospice for her faith and strength. They would also like to thank all of Heart of Hospice for always helping in times of need and to one special nurse of Egan Health, Teomi. These nurses are two of the best people.
