Raymond Rosalin Centanni passed away on April 4, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of the late Shirley S. Centanni. Father of Raymond R. Centanni, Jr. (Wife Gina), Darryl D. Centanni (late wife Sarah) and Thomas J. Centanni. Grandfather of Joseph S. Centanni (Wife Aimee), Lenice D. Centanni, Dominic D. Centanni and Jason A. Centanni. Brother of the late Conchetta C. Enos (Husband John), Rosalie C. Schwarz (Husband Melvin) and John C. Centanni, Sr. (Wife Dora). Son of the late Joseph Centanni and Rosie Taulli Centanni. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Raymond retired from Central Dispatch Inc. after 35 years of devoted services, where he worked with his brother and many other family members. He was one of the first employees and will always be remembered for his dedication. He also worked for Linesman Services, Inc. and Whiteman Towing Co. He was a Korean War Veteran, stationed in Seoul South Korea at Mig Alley during the height of the Korean War. A devoted parishioner of Saint Rosalie Church and school where he attended Mass daily. He also held many rolls in the growth of the school as well as the parish. Raymond was the original and founding member of the Jefferson Parish Italian American Society; a member of VFW and the Knights of Columbus, Archbishop Blenk Chapter; one of the key founders of the Harvey Playground that started in 1970. Ray Centanni’s volunteer efforts positively influenced many kids in Jefferson Parish throughout his lifetime. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Saint Rosalie Catholic Church, 610 Second Avenue, Harvey, LA on Monday, April 8, 2013 from 10AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will be held at the church on Monday at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
