Raymond Clinton Fink, of Gretna, LA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2016, in his son’s home in Hammond, LA at the age of 97. Raymond was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, brother, and companion. He was born June 25, 1918 in Algiers, LA to the late Charles Alexander Fink and Ethel Emma Caulfield. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Neva Farve Fink. Father of Raymond II (Shirley) of Hammond, LA and Betty Simmons (Eric) of The Woodlands, TX. Grandfather of Raymond Fink III (Tiffeny), David Fink (Natasha), Stephen Fink (Marcella), Donald Simmons (Anetha), Thomas Simmons (Vickie), Carolyn Arnold, Eugene Arnold, Debora Songy-Meeks (Greg), Robin Rigdon, Charles Arnold (Steffanie), Michelle Lauer (Dan), and Jeannine Richard. Great-grandfather of 27 and great-great-grandfather of 15. Brother of Miriam Lorraine Beecher (Robert) of Melbourne, FL and the late Edward Charles, James Christopher, Ralph William, Robert Lewis, and Charles Alexander Fink, Jr. Raymond is also survived by his loving companion of 10 years, Edith Eleanor Lehman.
He was a retired marine engineer who worked for over 40 years in towing and oil exploration. He had the privilege of living and working on six continents. His wife, Neva, was able to accompany him. While retired, he dedicated himself to the Masonic goals and pursuits. He served as a 42 year member and long-time chaplain of the William D. White F & AM #408 in Gretna, LA, advancing to 33rd degree Mason. He was also a Shrine clown for 40 years and served as chaplain of the Jerusalem Temple.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10 AM until 1:30 PM.
