Raymond “Ray” Paul Richard, Sr., age 71, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2014. Ray was born in New Orleans, LA on March 27, 1942 to Wilton Joseph and Carmen Savoie Richard. He was a graduate of Holy Name of Mary in Algiers and served in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve. He was employed by Todd Shipyard for 19 years and, most recently, by The Port of New Orleans, from which he retired in 2004. Ray was a proud member of AMVETS in the 1970s and a member of the Indivisible Friends Masonic Lodge #404 in Gretna. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, “stepson” Billy Rodrigue and brother-in-law, Tony Campiso. He is survived by his devoted wife, Terry Ann; his children, Patti R. Cognevich (Tony) and Ray, Jr. (Desrae); mother-in-law, Rose Campiso and brothers-in-law, Tim Campiso (Rose) and Ted Campiso. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, by whom he became affectionately known as “PawRay”. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 9AM until 1PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
