Raymond S. Tran, aged 67, unexpectedly passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Grand Isle Shipyard Lafitte.
‘Til his very last breath, Raymond continuously devoted his hard work and time doing what he loved most - passionately working at GIS surrounded by a team he’s been close with for many years. To Raymond, everyone at GIS were not merely his coworkers; they were his family, his brothers, his best friends. Raymond has consistently made a positive impact at GIS since 1998. He never hesitated to help out and take care of his friends and family first and foremost. No matter what time of day it may be, whether it was during work hours or even after-hours, he was always readily available to help and support anyone in need. He cherished his faith and time with his friends and family, and he was deeply loved by everyone he met. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Raymond was a major inspiration and a great role model to those who have had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
He is survived by his wife, Nhan Nguyen, and his one and only daughter, Lillian Tran.
He is preceded in death by both his parents in Vietnam.
Raymond especially will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his team at GIS and to his family, his selflessness and kindest heart lending a helping hand to everyone in need, and his unrelenting passion to provide for his family a life where no stress or struggle would ever come into picture. His actions and hard work spoke so much louder than words ever could; there is absolutely no doubt in anyone’s mind that Raymond genuinely loved his family and friends more than anything in this world. His faith in God and his fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone he met will never be forgotten.
