Reginald R. Denney passed away Monday, November 11, 2013. Beloved husband of Lois Bischoff Denney for 56 years. Loving father of Julia D. Hamann (Walter), Randall Denney (Marybeth) and Christopher Denney (Carolyn). Grandfather of Emily Denney, Luke Hamann, Will, Clint, and Stefan Arnold. Adopted Brother of Ruth Parrish. Uncle of Norma Wilson, Louis Shapley and Nancy Mawe. Son of the late Vera Wilkinson and Randall Denney and son-in-law of the late Louis and Ruth Bischoff. Age, 86 years. A native of McComb, MS and a resident of Terrytown, LA for many years. Mr. Denney was a Veteran of World War II having served two years in the U.S. Navy. He was a classical ballet instructor for 50 years and was retired from AT&T after 33 years. He danced at many carnival balls and with the New Orleans Opera Assoc. Mr. Reginald began his dance career in New York City with Ballet Arts at Carnagie Hall. He was selected as judge for the Big Easy Awards in the fields of Classical Music and Dance. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and American Legion Post 137.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at St. Joseph Church, 6th St., Gretna, LA on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 9 AM until 10 AM. The Memorial Mass will follow at 10 AM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA
