Rickey Paul Lajaunie Sr

Rickey P. LaJaunie, Sr. passed away peacefully on August 16. 2022, at the age of 74. Beloved son, father, husband, and grandfather.
Loving husband of 54 years to Louise Tallieu LaJaunie, son of the late Lorena B LaJaunie and Henry LaJaunie, brother of Ritchie LaJaunie (Debi), and Barbara LaJaunie, Father-in-Law to DeAnn Zeringue, Uncle to Brittni LaJaunie, Grandfather of Christina LaJaunie Sullivan (Brandon) and Jacob Territo, Father of the late Rickey P. LaJaunie, Jr.
“He fought a good fight, but lost his battle”
Rickey served three years in the US Army during the Vietnam War, enlisting at the age of 17. He worked as a certified welder for 50 years, and he really loved his trade. Rickey enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, and making unique art, and Rickey always had a smile on his face. He was affectionately known as “Honey” to all his sweetie pies. He never met a stranger, and he will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the VA Hospital for their care, love, and support.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette St. New Orleans, La 70114 at 11am. The visitation will begin at 10am.
