Ricky Jay Jeansonne, 47, died Thursday, December 7, 2023 after a hard-fought battle with ALS. Ricky was a native of Terrytown, Louisiana.
He spent many years working as a fire alarm technician and inspector for King Fischer and then Coastal Fire. He enjoyed cooking for friends and traveling with his beloved wife, Haley. He also took great pride in gardening and wine making.
Ricky is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Scollard Jeansonne. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Haley Rouse Jeansonne, father, Leonard J Jeansonne, sisters Jill J Young (Cary) all also of Terrytown, LA, Debra J Verrett (Steven) of Marrero, LA, mother-in-law, Pam S Rouse and father-in-law Douglas W Rouse, both of Hattiesburg, MS, three nieces and two nephews, and numerous loving friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12th from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway Harvey, LA 70058. A service to celebrate Ricky will be held at 1:00 P.M. with interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ricky’s honor to Team Gleason, an organization dedicated to serving individuals with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
