Rita M. Cardenal

Rita Mae "Gram" Cardenal passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Daughter of the late John and Victoria Zar Schieffler. Beloved wife of the late Dominick J. Cardenal. Mother of Robert Cardenal (Louise), Leonard Cardenal (Sheila), and Gina Cardenal Daigle and the late Christopher Cardenal. Devoted aunt of Sylvia Coldwell and Russell Cardenal. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a native of Lafitte, LA and a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA. She worked for Meyers Department Store and was a former member of the Belle Terre Golden Age Club. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11am. Interment Westlawn South cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the funeral home from 6pm until 10pm and again on Wednesday morning from 8am until 11am.
