Rita May Dupre

Rita May Dupre passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She entered into heaven’s gates on her birthday, Saturday February 1, 2025 at the age of 82. 

She was born in 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana along with three sisters and a late brother; Rosemary Stewart, Racheal Hamrick, Ruthie Andrews, and Ralph Donaghue.

She was known for loving & taking care of many of the community’s children at Kate & Allie’s Nursery where she worked for 34 years. She is most remembered for her warm welcomes & blueberry muffins in the morning. Being the heart of the family for so long and embodying a carefree, content, and loving spirit, she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her three children Bridget DeChristopher, Brenda Walker, and Arthur Dupre along with eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to Crossroads Church, 308 Ave J Belle Chasse, LA 70037 on Saturday February 22 for a time of visitation & celebration of life from 11am until 1:00pm.
