Robbie Cain Prather

Robbie Louise Cain Prather passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Ochsner Meadowcrest in Gretna, LA after a brief illness. Beloved wife for 65 years of Jessie W. Prather, she was the mother of Jessica Prather Rareshide (Lanaux) and the late Chester Lane Prather. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Steven Prather, Stacie Prather Mazur, Sandra Prather, Michelle Prather, Tracie Prather and Travis Lehman. She was the sister of Ralph W. Cain, Gerald E. Cain and the late Tommy Lee Cain and the daughter of L.H. Cain and Fannie Bet West Cain. A resident of Plaquemines Parish for the past 62 years, she was born in Teague Texas on December 10, 1921 and lived for many years in Kilgore, Texas. After graduation with a Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma, she taught Math at Buras High School for 13 years. She also wrote and published numerous articles for religious magazines during her lifetime. Visitation begins at 12 noon followed by a prayer service at 1 PM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 29, 2011.
