Robert Joseph Albrecht, Sr., passed away peacefully on May 10, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Survivors include his children, Rebecca Mackie (Roy Mackie), Robert Albrecht, Jr. (Malaika King-Albrecht) and Brad Albrecht (Janalyn Watkins Albrecht); his beloved companion of 23 years, Tammy Jo McCarroll; grandchildren, Anthony, Patience, Sara, Andrea, Amani, Serena and Juliana; great-grandchildren, Jade, Philip, Tyrone, Eric and Rebecca; brother and sisters, Baldo Albrecht, Florence Landry and Elizabeth Mullet. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Mae Lambert; parents, Mary Santa Lucia Albrecht and Baldo Matthew Albrecht; brother, Richard Albrecht and sister, Dina Marie Ponceti.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the 68th A & E Maintenance Squadron of the Strategic Air Command. He was the owner of Air Marine Radio, Inc., was a licensed airplane pilot, was founding president of Volmer Club of America, past-president of St. Charles Aviation/Ama Airport, a member of Experimental Aircraft Assoc. (E.A.A.) and Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Assoc. (A.O.P.A.). He was a longtime little-league baseball coach for Terrytown Recreation Center and more recently, served his community in Pilots N Paws, a pet rescue service. In addition to being a skilled pilot, he was a cattle rancher on his property in Lumberton, MS and was an avid biker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 9 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS for 12:30 PM. Vistitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Tuesday from 8 AM to 9 AM.
