Robert John Burlet, Jr., outspoken West Bank native, died peacefully in his Covington apartment on Wednesday, November 29th at the age of 74.
Bob, as he was known to friends and family, was a graduate of Jesuit High School and the University of New Orleans, and served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War. An avid reader, connoisseur of music, and lover of games of all kinds, Bob brought a smile and a wry joke to every occasion. He was the eldest son of Robert John, Sr. and Joyce Chiasson Burlet and the biggest brother to Glen, Michael, Kenneth, and Richard. He is survived by his children, Robert III (Cherie), Mark (Marni), and Mia, as well as 6 grandchildren (Robert IV, Emma, Lukas, William, Kai, and Anna) and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the interment ceremony on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 at 11:00 A.M at McDonoghville Cemetery, 520 Hancock Street in Gretna. Visitation to follow at the home of his daughter, Mia, in Gentilly.
