Robert D. “Bob” Lee passed away on June 9, 2015 at the age of 85 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Christa Morice Lee. Step-father of Charles “Chad” Morice Jr. and Michael Morice. Grandfather of Aiden and Evan Morice. Uncle of Douglas Lee Sr., Jahn Collins, and Sheree Yoder and the late Kenneth Lee. Great-uncle of Douglas Lee Jr. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Smith Lee Jr.; half-brother, Philip B Williams Jr. and his parents, Mattie Rabb Lee and William S. Lee. Also survived by many other loving cousins, relatives, and friends.
Bob was born in Cleveland, MS, grew up in Woodville, MS and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg with his degree in Accounting. He began his career in New Orleans, then became a manager for Stolt Nielsen in Houston, TX and later for GATX in Chicago, IL where he retired in 1991. After his retirement he returned to New Orleans and enjoyed working part time for is brother Bill at Lee Inventions in Westwego, LA. He was a faithful member of the Aurora United Methodist Church in Algiers, LA. Bob loved to fish, and playing tennis with his friends at Aurora Tennis and Swim Club where he served on the Board of Directors until his death. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Bob touched the lives of so many. He was the essence of a gentleman, a magnificent dancer, and will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
