Our wonderful father, Robert Lee Davies, Jr. of Harvey, LA entered his eternal rest on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 87. He was known for his fighting spirit and generous heart. He is preceded in death by his parents Beulah Davidson and Robert Lee Davies, Sr., and his sisters Roberta Blake (James) and Susan Potter (Billy Joe). He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lillian, his brother, Thomas Davies, his loving daughters Crystal Elbe (Lasse) and Dina Sawyer (Richey), five beautiful grandchildren – Brianna Morrison, Thomas Sawyer, Christian Sawyer, Robert Sawyer and Ethan Elbe. Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews and cousin to many - all of whom he loved very much. Dearly remembered by his friends Patrick Carney, John & Patti Rouse, Robert Claycomb and Karen Lyle, Harumi Baker and Benjamin & Terri Ishihara. Heartfelt gratitude to the caregiving angels of Bernadette Davis, D’wajuanette & Kodi DeLavallade, Latasha Wright, the wonderful team at Heart of Hospice and the talented staff at Touro Infirmary. He is a Vietnam Veteran having served eighteen years in the U.S. Army where he travelled the world, finally settling down in Fayetteville, NC. Shortly after his honorable discharge from the Army, he co-founded Southeast Capital Planning in Fayetteville, NC and remained active in the insurance industry for nearly forty years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home at 2100 Westbank Expressway Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 11, 20203 at 2pm. Interment at the Southeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery. Parlors will be open from noon until the start of the service on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
