Robert Filipcik passed away on January 25, 2014 at the age of 41 years. Robert was born in a small town, Bruntal (Czech Republic) on September 15, 1972, to the parents, Zuzana Filpcikova and Frantisek Filipcik who gave him as much love as they could.
He was a very calm and good-natured child. In childhood, he went to the kindergarten on Karlovec. After elementary school, he went to the vocational school, which focused on the mining industry, in Ostrava as a mining machinery technician. In 1990, he went to the military for 2 years in Tabor. He achieved the rank of Corporal. After military service, he worked in a mine named “OKD”, Dul Odra in City Ostrava. After the mine was closed, he became a keeper in the hospital, a job that he loved very much because of his big heart and desire to help people.
In 1999, he made a decision to satisfy his big dream and go to the United States of America forever. It was in 2012 that he met his wife, Brenda Washington. They were married September 14, 2013.
Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda Washington-Filipcik; his parents, Zuzana Filpcikova and Frantisek Filipcik; sister, Milena (Jaroslav) Fojtikovi and his brother, Adrian Filipcik, all from the Czech Republic; mother-in-law, Mary Rice from Thomasville, AL; three sisters-in-law, Ms. Synthia Williams, Ms. Alecia Washington and Erica Pace all of Thomasville, AL, special nieces and nephews, Kaitin Washington, Chance Jones, Jacoby Pace and Quinshae Brown all of Thomasville, AL along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his very special companion, Frankie the cat. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
