Robert Ross "Bob" Huffman

Robert Ross “Bob” Huffman passed away on December 15, 2024, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bob was born February 22,1938 in Jonesboro Arkansas and will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston Texas on December 27, 2024, with full Military Funeral Honors. Bob was in the US Navy for 20 years, stationed around the world at various bases, including Norfolk, VA, Sanford, FL, the Island of Guam, and Pensacola FL. He was an aircraft flight technician and reached the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was based on the US aircraft carrier USS Forrestal and was stationed in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam conflict. After his Vietnam service he was stationed in Pensacola, where he served on the Blue Angels Flight team as aircraft technician. After his service in the US Navy, he retired in Pensacola where he became a Century 21 Real Estate Agent. That was not his true calling, and after two years he returned to his real talent, jet turbine engines, as a field engineer for Solar Turbines, Inc. (later Caterpillar, Inc.) out of Gretna, LA. He worked for Solar/Cat for 30 years before retiring in Algiers, LA. Bob is survived by his wife, Kim Huffman, step-daughter Cindy (Hung) Le, and step-grandchildren, Matthew Le, Tuyen Dinh (husband Luc Nguyen) and their son William Nguyen, as well as former spouse, Laverne Huffman, Madison MS, son Robert (Jody) Huffman Jr., Pensacola FL, son Tony (Laurie) Huffman, Madison MS, grandchildren, David (Mary Kate) Huffman, Madison MS, Rob (Allison Douglas) Huffman, Madison MS, Sarah Huffman, Dallas TX and great grandchildren, Katherine Blake Huffman “Blake” and Margaret Louise Huffman “Maggie”, Madison MS.
