Robert Curtis Moore, age 96, passed away on January 2, 2024. He was preceeded in death by his parents Robert H. Moore and Allie Mae Wilkes Moore; his siblings Cleatrice Moore, Harold Moore, Ivan Moore, Jewel Mallory, Onie Mae Dawson, Clarence Moore, Arlene Fonti; his wife Margaret Moore; and his grand-daughter Casie Elizabeth Moore. Robert is survived by his children Robert W. Moore (Diane), Timothy Curtis Moore (Cindy); his brother Fred Moore; grandchildren Jennifer Moore Magnum, Margaret Bennett, Bryan Hebert, and Lauren Lee; great-grandchildren Emily Bennett, Artie Bennett, Avery Hebert, Jake Lee, Blake Lee, Christopher Sonnier, and Eli Dunn Magnum; and his only great-great-grandchild Connor Lee. Robert was born in Elba, Alabama on November 8, 1927. He was a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as Chief Petty Officer. He was also privileged to have traveled to the South Pole with Admiral Byrd. After retirement from the Navy, he went on to work as a field engineer for DeLaval for a number of years. He traveled the world over and there were not many countries he did not get to visit. Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, in Harvey on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:30AM. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA.
