Robert Valence Robicheaux

Robert “Bobby” Robicheaux peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Beloved and devoted husband of 59 years to Jane Nikoll Robicheaux. Son of the late James Thomas Robicheaux and Leona Ruiz Robicheaux. Loving father of Pamela Robicheaux Risinger (the late Ricky), Robert Robicheaux (Anna Costa), Rhett J. Robicheaux (Susan) and Penny Robicheaux Montgomery (Rick). Brother of Dottie Robicheaux Thompson and the late Dolores Robicheaux Clark and Melvin “Boy” Robicheaux. Bobby is survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is the brother-in-law of the late Joan Gruner (Survived by Rick). Bobby was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. He attended Holy Name High School and attended Delgado Community College. He was a Veteran of the Korean War while enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from Avondale Shipyard after 42 years of service. He also owned his own business, Bob’s Electric. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation and thank you to his caregiver, Janie Mills as well as the doctors and staff of Notre Dame Hospice and Chateau de Notre Dame for their care given. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 8:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
