Robert Allen Thompson

Robert Allen Thompson, age 59, passed away on January 12, 2022. Loving husband of Phyllis Slayton Thompson of 30 years, and father of Jacob Robert Thompson and Jessica Marie Thompson. Grandfather of Macilynn Grace McGeehee. Born on August 24, 1962 in Franklin, New Jersey, Robert is the son of the late William H. Thompson and Florence Worth Thompson. Brother of Charles Thompson (Tammy), Glenn Thompson, Richard Thompson (Rosemarie), and Gilbert Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces nephews, cousins, Jennifer T. Burks (Kyle), Christopher Thompson (Jennifer), Joshua B. Thompson, James Thompson (Lizzie), Bill Thompson, David Thompson (Bethany), Carey Theil (Christine), Ryan Bradley, Hillary Drew Gardner, Amber Gardner, Bonnie Argeanton, and many more. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked at Huntington Ingalls Shippbuilders in Pascagoula, MS as a Foreman in the Paint Department, formally Avondale Shipyard in Louisiana. He was a proud Navy veteran and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Robert loved to fish. He was loved by many and will forever be in our hearts.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO BLVD., in Marrero on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1PM. Visitation will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Restlawn Park in Avondale, LA.
