Robert F. Volk, 70, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at West Jefferson Hospital. Bob was born November 18, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Conco) Volk. He attended Mergenthaler Vocational-technical high school where he was a star football player. After high school Bob began a life of many adventures. He became a master mixologist at several of Baltimore’s finest restaurants. He left Baltimore to pursue a career as an underwater diver for several oil companies, traveling the world. He then made New Orleans his home and became proprietor of several local drinking establishments. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson trike, boating, fishing, and spending time with his beloved friends. He was an extraordinary man of great character and generosity. He is survived by his cousins Cathy Palmer and her husband Richard; Cindy Bailey and her husband Dwane; Dee Jubb and her husband Bill; Kathy Conco; Paul Conco and his wife Diana; Karen Teng and her husband Bill; Jude Gardner and her husband Wayne; Greg Koster and his wife Joann; as well as the cousins’ children and grandchildren. He is also survived by a wonderful “family of friends,” especially, Marcia and Sandy, Ralph Schelecci, Bob James and Jimmy Michelli. He is received by his beloved Mom and Dad and many friends who have predeceased him. Donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (
