Rodney Joseph Leonard

Rodney Joseph Leonard, born April 25, 1940 died on April 13, 2015 at 74 years of age. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Phyllis Marie Cotton Leonard. Rodney was the beloved father to Shannon Leonard Seminary (Merlin) and Nieli Leonard Hebert (Timmie). He was the beloved grandfather to Katie Babineaux (Roberto), Dalton Hebert and Merlin Joseph Seminary. Rodney is also the beloved great grandfather to Liam Michael Ictech and Brynlee Michelle Ictech. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Leonard and Bernice Blanchard Leonard; his mother and father-in-law, Felix Cotton and Elta Tassin Cotton. Rodney was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Westwego, LA. He was one of the original and founding members of the Crowns in 1958. Rodney was a graduate of West Jefferson High School in 1960; he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 1961-1963. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 10AM until 1:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
