Roger James Richard, Sr.

Roger James Richard, Sr. passed away on February 18, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Mary Shano Richard for 60 years. Father of Carmelita "Lita" Ducote (Donald), Roger J. "RJ" Richard, Jr., Donna Richard, Roseanna Piglia, and Crystal Reese. Grandfather of Lindsay Guidry (Cody), Payton Piglia, Cody Piglia, and the late Revee' Eschette. Great-grandfather of Mason and Maddison Ducote, and Morgan Guidry. Son of the late Anna Schaff Richard and Edgar Richard. Brother of Gordon Richard (Alice), Lynette Bourg (the late Camille), and the late Stanley Richard, Enid Vineyard, and Elaine Hill. Age 86 years and a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. He was a past Fire Chief of Gould Volunteer Fire Dept. in Gretna, LA and retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force. He was an avid carpenter and woodworker.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11 AM.
