Roland Thomas Hingle, Sr.

Roland Thomas Hingle, Sr. passed away at his home on June 12, 2024 after fighting a lengthy battle with Parkinson's and Cancer.  He was born in New Orleans, LA on November 30, 1936 and was a lifelong resident of Buras, LA. 
 
He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara of 63 years. He was a loving father to Roland (Cherie) Hingle, Jr., Todd (Shelly) Hingle, Lauri (John) Hingle Lieux, brother to Brenda (Clyde) Bryant and Mona (Lynn) Alfonso and daughter-in-law Euna Dea (Jeffery) Ragas.  Roland is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
 
 He is preceded in death by his father Martin Walter Hingle and mother Irene Josephine Williams (Hingle) Richard, brothers Martin and Rodney Hingle and sisters Linda Castigliono and Genevieve Jeansone.
 
 Roland spent most of his life as a commercial shrimper and loved the outdoors. The Hingle family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the Buras Volunteer Fire Department.  
 
 To honor Roland’s memory, a funeral service will be held at Trinity Christian Community Church located at 36674 Hwy 11 Buras, LA on Monday, June 17^th. The visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am. The service will start at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
