Roland Joseph "Skeeter" Thomassie

ROLAND JOSEPH “SKEETER” THOMASSIE, September 27, 1939, passed away on March 6, 2015. He was married 55 years to his beloved wife Suzanne Primeaux Thomassie. He was a loving father to Catherine Thomassie Guerrero (Paul), Carla Thomassie Landry (Troy) and Rod David Thomassie (Paula Michella). Loving Grandfather to his grandchildren, Jon, Lee, Jena, Eric, Erin, Rod Jr., Selena and grand daughter Baileigh Painter. He was preceded in death by his parents Octavie Thomassie and Verna Guidry Thomassie; his brothers, Sherriel (Pookie) Thomassie (wife Elaine), Ronald “Big Head” Thomassie (wife Carrie Ann) and his caring nieces & nephews. He was a Veteran in the United States Army and a member of the American Legion post 222. He retired from the Jefferson Parish Code Enforcment. He was inducted to the Music Hall of Fame; he loved his music. He was always there for his friends and did a lot for people who needed his help. He will always be with us in our hearts and memories. He will truly be missed. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd. at Westwood Drive, Marrero, LA on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5PM until 10PM. Interment will be privately held at a later date.
