Ronald Charles Brechtel, former owner of Pelican Marine Supply (also known as Pelican Grocery) entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 06, 2012 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of 39 years to the late Eve Marie Brechtel. Son of Mary Conaway Brechtel and the late Peter Brechtel, Sr. Father of Dawn Brechtel and Desirée Brechtel (Fiance’ Jason Lisotta). Stepfather of Elizabeth Giambelluca and Joseph LeBouef. Grandfather of David Alfortish, Blake Alfortish, Joseph LeBouef, Jr., Madison Randon and Connor Brechtel. Great Grandfather of Peyton Randon, Avery Alfortish and David Alfortish, III. Brother of Peter Brechtel, Jr, Connie Brechtel Goings and the late Carolyn Brechtel Beauregard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ronald was born in Algiers and was a resident of Gretna for the past 40 years. He was a member of Timberlane Country Club for over 50 years. He loved his family, LSU football and baseball, New Orleans Saints, and golf.
