Ronald Paul Daigle, aged 89, passed away on October 20, 2024, in Luling, LA. Born February 24, 1935, in New Orleans, LA, was married to the love of his life, Bonnie Defee Daigle in 1962. Ronald was a lifelong resident of Louisiana and a devoted family man and community member.
Ronald graduated from Nicholls State University in 1955 and graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (Class of 1957) in Electrical Engineering. His career spanned many years at Louisiana Power & Light (LP&L), Entergy, and Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, where he was respected for his dedication and work ethic. He also served honorably in the Louisiana Army National Guard, a testament to his commitment to service. Ronald grew up in Schriever, LA. His dedication to LP&L moved his family from Donaldsonville, Napoleonville, and Houma to Harvey, LA. When he retired from Entergy, he and his wife headed to Chauvin, LA where they lived for 20 years fishing, catching crabs and teaching his grandchildren about life on the bayou. After dealing with many hurricanes, he and Bonnie made their final stop together in Hahnville, LA.
He was a member of the Lions Club International, Young Men's Business Club (YMBC), and devoted many hours to the Woodland West Swim Club. Ronnie was also a retired member of the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. He enjoyed his time with the Silver Sneakers at Anytime Fitness in Destrehan.
Ronald was a passionate LSU Football fan, a hobby that brought him much joy and excitement. He also loved tinkering in his shed, fishing, boating, and spending precious time with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He loved his past and present dogs: Charlie, Magnum, Holly and Max who were his companions for over 50 years.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn Daigle Steel (Kevin) and Douglas Paul Daigle (Sherie); grandchildren, Matthew Gerard Steel, Michael Patrick Steel, and Ryan Paul Daigle; great-grandchildren, Olivia Ann Steel, Julie Ann Steel, and Dominic Savio Steel; and his sister, Marilyn Daigle Waguespack (Donald). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie DeFee Daigle; his parents, Cecilia Lillian Zakrzewski and Henry Daigle Jr.; and his sister, Catherine Jeanne Daigle Parker.
Services will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO BLVD., in Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will take place immediately following at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Ronald's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him as a kind and loving father, and a proud supporter of LSU Football. His legacy of love, service, and community involvement will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
