Ronald Lee Latapie

Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Latapie passed peacefully on December 4, 2022 at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 74. Ronnie was born in Mobile, Alabama on January 22, 1948 to the late Jean and Lois King Latapie. Ronnie fought a long battle for 2 and a half years after having a heart attack on Father's Day in 2020. Ronnie at the age of 18 enlisted in the US Army and served our country during the Vietnam War. He was a Captain in the New Orleans Fire Department, Engine 33 Ladder 6, for 33 years. He valued his job and the feelings he had for saving lives and helping the community. Ronnie especially enjoyed spending time with his family, playing Phase 10 with his friends, traveling, watching sports, loving the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Cubs, and loved listening to his “oldies but goodies.” Ronnie is survived in life and love by his daughter Holly Ann Latapie, granddaughter Hayley (Nicolas) Latapie Palmisano, daughter-in-law Tina Farlow Latapie, granddaughter Madelyn Gayle Latapie, his sisters Marie (Dario) Macera and Cindy (Wade) Mobley, his companion Cynthia Landry, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife Gayleann Marie Latapie, his son Ross Lee Latapie, and his siblings Jackie (Emmett) Thompson and Johnny Latapie.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 1:30 PM.
